I’m starting this blog to talk about the importance of mentors and discipleship in the believers’ lives. It is a concept that not many Christians practice. In my opinion, the church is lacking in making disciples for two reasons:
Time
There aren’t mentors who are willing to take the time and do the hard work of walking alongside each person to rebuke, encourage, and discipline transforming each person into the image of Jesus Christ.
Trust
Believers are afraid to trust mentors with their lives due to past hurts and bad experiences. When I talk to youth, I always get the same answer, “I don’t have someone to trust,” or the question of “Why do I need someone to tell me what to do in my life?” It is sad to see a generation that is lacking in mentors and discipleship.
In my posts, I will be sharing the importance of discipleship and why as believers we need to have someone that we can go back to for advice and comes alongside us when are in need of wisdom and discernment in our life’s journey.
